I followed my sister to the Mall a while back to help her decide which foundation to buy , then I saw myself on the makeup artist chair testing my shade. I didn't exactly need another foundation, but then again my sister offered to pay for it... who am I to say no to free stuff? I've used this foundation a couple of times, and as usual I decided to do a review on it.
What Black Up says:
The One and Only!
This foundation is a true must have. When applied to skin, its unique creamy texture transforms into a stunning silky powder with an impeccable matte finish. Its formula is enriched with latest- generation matifying powders to get rid of sebum in the blink of an eye. The complexion looks smooth, radiant with a perfect velvety finish.
Its unique texture is very easy to apply with a sponge or a brush and is completely build-able, from a light powdery veil to complete coverage.
This improved formula is Paraben free, Oil free and Fragrance free, comes in 16 different shades and is totally dedicated to black and ethnic skin.
My Thoughts:
As always I love to give my personal thoughts on every product I review.
This is the second Black Up foundation I have tried, and I most say with all honesty: I absolutely love it. Seems like Black Up can never go wrong in my eyes. A student of mine once used this to practice on herself in class, and I was so amazed at the coverage and finish. This product is wonderful, I love the matte finish it gives me. I got the shade NFC 06 and it suits me perfectly. I am used to liquid foundations, and most times I put the foundation at the back of my hand to warm it up , then use a brush to apply. With the Black Up Creme to Powder, I tried using the brush directly but that wasn't working well for me. I didn't try using the sponge either, I simply use my fingers, Yes my fingers. I get the best results using my fingers. I dab the product on my face and blend in. If need be, I could still using my buffing brush to finish it up. This is not your everyday product, and it shouldn't even be your "go to foundation". If you are the type that uses foundation all the time, if you do that with this product, it wont last o. Personally I use this on special occasions when I want to look my absolute best.
Overall:
Black Up brand in general is a high end brand and can be a little pricey, but do not let that deter you. Believe me, it is worth every dime spent. Black Up foundation remains my best brand so far, but once I try something better than this be sure I would let you know.
Would I recommend this product? In a heart beat, yes yes yes sure I would recommend it.
