Bimbo's Makeover | Wedding Guest

My sister, My muse.... Bimbo said my readers must be tired of seeing her before picture by now.. Is that true or false?

Nneka's Makeover...

Nneka contacted me during the week to make arrangements for a makeover, as she had a wedding to attend. She found me on instagram through Hegai & Esther's page. Apparently she had browsed a number of makeup artists on Hegai & Esther's page , and settled for me. I was really happy to hear that.

Hegai & Esther Waterproof Eyebrow Definer

Eyebrows on fleek, eyebrows of life, brow game, eyebrows on point.... These are just some of the phrases used to describe perfectly drawn brows.  Well groomed and defined eyebrows give the entire face an absolute lift, and that is why a lot of us want to get the brows right.

How To : Store your false lashes for re-use!

Hey Dolls,

I hope your weekend is going well? It's a busy one for me, but I could spare some time for this quick post.

I love my false lashes, I use them for almost all the looks I create on the blog. The best thing about the falsies: they are 100% human hair and can be used over and over and over again provided you care for them properly.

Orange, Here & There #2

Hey Dolls,

So I recently picked up some new babies for myself and my work kit, but the weather has not been good to me at all, I just got around to do a look of the day post. I felt like a kid in a candy store, and I wanted to use at least 4 of my newbies in this look. I succeeded!!!

Hegai & Esther : Makeup Tools and Hygiene

culled from

Often times Makeup Artists and enthusiasts rave on and on about new products, whether it's a limited edition lipstick, or a spanking new dupe of a favourite brand. So many online stores selling more and more products, that you can almost go bankrupt;  I know I am guilty of this, but now the issue here is,  aside products, there is also the tools and hygiene aspect of makeup.

Aunty Juwon's Makeover...

Hello Dolls,

Hope you all had a lovely week, and the weekend is going well too?

Aunty Juwon was in London when she got my pin from my namesake,  Doyin who went to Unilag with me. This was some time around the last week in December. She told me to book the date for her, that she would send me the details once she gets into Nigeria.

Black Up Creme to Powder Foundation

I followed my sister to the Mall a while back to help her decide which foundation to buy , then I saw myself on the makeup artist chair testing my shade. I didn't exactly need another foundation, but then again my sister offered to pay for it... who am I to say no to free stuff? I've used this foundation a couple of times, and as usual I decided to do a review on it.

What Black Up says:

The One and Only!
This foundation is a true must have. When applied to skin, its unique creamy texture transforms into a stunning silky powder with an impeccable matte finish. Its formula is enriched with latest- generation matifying powders to get rid of sebum in the blink of an eye. The complexion looks smooth, radiant with a perfect velvety finish.

Its unique texture is very easy to apply with a sponge or a brush and is completely build-able, from a light powdery veil to complete coverage.

This improved formula is Paraben free, Oil free and Fragrance free, comes in 16 different shades and is totally dedicated to black and ethnic skin.

My Thoughts:

As always I love to give my personal thoughts on every product I review.

This is the second Black Up foundation I have tried, and I most say with all honesty: I absolutely love it. Seems like Black Up can never go wrong in my eyes. A student of mine once used this to practice on herself in class, and I was so amazed at the coverage and finish. This product is wonderful, I love the matte finish it gives me. I got the shade NFC 06 and it suits me perfectly. I am used to liquid foundations, and most times I put the foundation at the back of my hand to warm it up , then use a brush to apply. With the Black Up Creme to Powder, I tried using the brush directly but that wasn't working well for me. I didn't try using the sponge either, I simply use my fingers, Yes my fingers. I get the best results using my fingers. I dab the product on my face and blend in. If need be, I could still using my buffing brush to finish it up. This is not your everyday product, and it shouldn't even be your "go to foundation". If you are the type that uses foundation all the time, if you do that with this product, it wont last o. Personally I use this on special occasions when I want to look my absolute best.

Black Up brand in general is a high end brand and can be a little pricey, but do not let that deter you. Believe me, it is worth every dime spent. Black Up foundation remains my best brand so far, but once I try something better than this be sure I would let you know.

Would I recommend this product? In a heart beat, yes yes yes sure I would recommend it.

Product: black Up Creme to Powder Foundation
Price: #7, 230
Where to buy: The Montaigne Place, The Palms Shopping Mall, Lekki Lagos.
                           On the website: for $41

So who else has tried this foundation , or any other black up foundation? Please share your thoughts in the comment section.

Happy Hair-nniversary to me.....

It's exactly one year since my big chop and I must say the journey so far has been amazing. Through out the past year, never for once did I regret cutting my hair and I never missed the chemicals that damaged my hair in the first place.

The Weekend that was.....

Gorgeous Ify...
Hey Dolls,

I hope everyone is doing great? Let me assume we all enjoyed the long holiday, woooow. Hopefully, you all got some rest, and ready for the new week.

So I had an amazing weekend with family, and I shared the pictures on my Instagram page. It was Ify and Emeka's black tie after party celebration and it was fun. I had to wake up early to get ready , then head to Ify's house to do her makeup.
