Review: Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Powder!!!

Everybody loves a lil  "all -in-one" product, that does all its supposed to do and goes easy on the pocket. Today's review is on one of those. I recently added the Maybelline Clear Smooth all in one Powder to my collection, and I've used it on myself as well as a few clients. I decided i'll do a review on it as well.

Here we go...

What Maybelline says:

The all in one that does it all:

  • Controls Shine
  • Conceals flaws
  • Smooths
  • Evens
  • Mattifies
  • Perfects tone
  • SPF25/++
Packaging: It comes in a beautiful, rectangular sturdy pink container that has a mirror and a soft little sponge.

My thoughts:

I've used this powder a couple of times to set my foundation and i must say it is super smooth, feels very light and doesn't feel cakey at all.  It has a very good smell, didn't clog my pores or cause any breakouts.

Personally, i always ensure i use a primer before i apply my makeup, but to an extent this product controls shine as it lasts up to 4 hours for me.  I don't ever re-apply foundation or powder during the day, the best touch up i would use is blotting paper...

I got this product in the shade toffee and surprisingly it blends perfectly well with my  mac nc45/50.

SPF25 sounds like a good deal, sadly,  i can't test the validity of that as i don't get exposed to the sun at all. Using the sponge it comes with can be very annoying and messy as it packs on so much product, resulting in waste, and leaves the mirror dirty and foggy. I'll recommend using a powder brush for application. The compact that holds the product is very very deceiving as its just half of it that has the powder and the other half is the sponge, its almost like a sample product or tester.

An inexpensive powder that gives light to medium coverage. It works well in terms of evening out the skin tone and at the same time covers minor flaws. I would be repurchasing this and i would also recommend it.

Its 3.5 out of 5 beauty stars for this baby right here!!!

Bought this for #2,000 at the Maybelline Makeup Fair in Lagos, but you can get it from all House of Tara stores nationwide.

Has anyone else tried this powder? Please share your thoughts.....
